What do we teach?
Our combat philosophy combines both Shaolin Kempo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It includes kicking, punching, grappling, trapping, locking and take downs as well as defenses against weapons. Later on we teach the use of weapons.
What is Shaolin Kempo?
Shaolin Kempo is a martial arts style that combines the Five Animals of Shaolin Kung Fu, namely the DRAGON, the SNAKE, the TIGER, the LEOPARD, and the CRANE.
It includes, the core competency of KEMPO, the hard-hitting linear explosiveness of traditional KARATE, the power of BOXING, and the felling and grappling arts of JIU JITSU, CHIN NA, and MONGOLIAN WRESTLING. It integrates the "4 ways of fighting", STRIKING, KICKING, FELLING and GRAPPLING.
What is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a self defense system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. The art was derived from the Japanese martial art of KODOKAN JUDO in the early 20th century.
It teaches that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique, most notably by applying joint-locks and choke holds to defeat the other person.
The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu we teach is used solely for self defense purposes.
By combining both of these arts, we are able include all aspects of a fight, thereby training the student to deal with any situation a confrontation might include.
We teach a COMPLETE DEFENSE and FIGHTING system.
